Nahema Hanafi is a lecturer in history at the University of Angers (TEMOS). She specializes in the history of medicine, the body, sexualities, women and gender (18th-19th centuries, Europe). Her research focuses on women's health practices, the medical construction of sex, the effeminacy processes and sexuality. Also a specialist in epistolary exchange, she recently took an interest in West African cybercrime by studying "Nigerian-style" scams sent by email by Ivorian grazers.
