Julie Remoiville holds a doctorate from the École Pratique des Hautes Études in Far Eastern studies, religious sciences and systems of thought, specializing in questions of religious renewal and gender relations in contemporary urban China. During her post-doctorate funded by the Chiang Ching Kuo Foundation in Taiwan, she conducted research on cultural and religious practices around birth in China, studied through the prism of gender. She is currently a Chinese language teacher.
