Mériam Cheikh is a socio-anthropologist specializing in the transformations of the working classes in Morocco and more specifically in the production of juvenile and popular culture through gender, intimacy and sexuality. She is the author of a doctoral thesis in cous of publication and entitled: “Becoming Respectable. A popular female youth through the prism of the intimate economy (Tangier - Morocco) ”. She has co-edited books on gender and social mobility issues and published several articles on prostitution and urban youth in Morocco.
