Biography

Sophie Lacaze is a French composer of contemporary classical music. In 2019, its catalog includes nearly 70 works (orchestra, chamber music, vocal music, solos, operas, etc.), which are regularly performed or broadcast in around twenty countries.

Sophie Lacaze teaches composition and the history of music at the University Paul Valéry in Montpellier. She is president of Plurielles 34, the French association of composers, and directs the contemporary music festival Musiques Démesurée in Clermont-Ferrand.
