Hermeline Pernoud has a doctorate in French literature. She defended a thesis entitled Féeries pour une autre fois: rewritings and renewal of the paradigms of fairy tales (1808-1920) , directed by Paolo Tortonese at the Sorbonne Nouvelle University. She is more particularly interested in the rewriting of tales in the 19th century, the disenchantment of figures of the marvelous and questions of gender representation. She will co-publish with Florence Fix The Tale in All Its States: Fragmenting and Reenchanting the Marvelous in the Twentieth Century (publication: end of 2017).
