Biography

Wafa Ben Haj Omar (MA, Fulbright alumna) is currently Senior Expert at the Heinrich Boell Foundation in North Africa. She has been working since 2007 on democratic transitions in the Arab region, women's rights, individual freedoms, capacity building for leaders of political parties and transitional justice.
She has held leadership positions at Al-Kawakibi Center in Tunis, the Arab Democracy Foundation in Doha, and Freedom House. Before changing careers, Ben Haj Omar was an assistant at the University of Tunis.
