Ségolène Vandevelde is an archaeologist. His research falls within the field of geoarcheology and prehistory at the border between hard sciences and human sciences. His work focuses on the transition between Middle and Upper Paleolithic and on the development of a pioneering method (fuliginochronology) which consists in studying the concretions trapping soot. At the same time, she is developing a second line of reflexive research on ethics in archeology. She is notably president of the Archéo-Ethique association and a member of the labos1p5 collective.
