Biography

Florys Castan-Vicente has a doctorate in history (University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, CHS Mondes contemporains), and teaches social sciences in Staps at the University of Paris-Sud (CIAMS-SCOS). After a master's degree on Marie-Thérèse Eyquem, her thesis is devoted to the links between the beginnings of women's physical activities and the first feminist wave in France (end of the 19th century-1930s). Her research also focuses on the biographies of sportswomen and sports leaders, sports professionalism and international sports institutions.
