Biography

Sylvie Aprile is professor of contemporary history at the University of Paris Nanterre. She is a specialist of the French and European 19th century. She worked more particularly on the revolution of 1848, the Dreyfus affair, and the beginnings of the Third French Republic. She has published numerous articles and books on political exile and migration issues, and gender. She is also interested in migrations in the 20th century and in particular in the fate of Polish migrants in the Central Region.
