Biography

Susanne Böhmisch is a German scholar, specialist in gender issues in literature and the arts in German countries (20th and 21st centuries). Teacher-researcher at the University of Aix-Marseille, she has published numerous books and articles on writers (Elfriede Jelinek, Ingeborg Bachmann), women artists (Paula Modersohn-Becker, Meret Oppenheim, Bauhaus) and dance (Pina Bausch). She is co-director of the journal Cahiers d'études germaniques and organizer of the Jeudis du genre AMU.
