Biography

Marie Christina Kolo is a climate activist, ecofeminist and social entrepreneur, founder of the social enterprise Green N Kool and co-founder of the Indian Ocean Climate Network. A leader within Ecofeminism Madagascar and the national Gender and Climate Justice coalition, she is also the initiator of the Women Break the Silence movement, fighting against sexual violence and the culture of rape. Her fight for human rights earned her the Martine Anstett International Human Rights Prize in 2020.
