Biography

Merna Aboul Ezz is a Ph.D. Candidate at IHEID. Her research focuses on the intersection of islamic law reform and international human rights law on feminism and gender. She professionally worked as a consultant on gender-based violence, conflict, peace and security at different UN entities and NGOs including Global Survivors Fund, UNITAR and UNHCR. She holds an MA in International Human Rights Law and a BA in Political Science and Middle East Studies from The American University in Cairo (AUC). During her BA, she double specialized in International Relations and International Law.
