Raquel Véstia is a human rights lawyer and gender expert, specializing in violence against women and gender-based violence. She specializes in international human rights law and women's peace and security. She has worked as a lawyer for the United Nations Human Rights Council and several NGOs around the world. In Portugal, she joined the leadership of the Portuguese Association of Women Lawyers. She is a member of the Federation of Women in Legal Careers and the Women International League for Peace and Freedom.
