Jennifer Boum Make is Assistant Professor of Contemporary Literature in French at Georgetown University in Washington DC. She works on the relationship between literature and ethics of care , in particular in the representations of the French colonial past and its survivals in the contemporary French-speaking Caribbean. She has published articles on the contemporary persistence of colonial practices or a colonial unconscious, particularly in the ways of considering the relationship to the living, as well as gender and power relations.
