Biography

Daphné Budasz is a historical researcher at the European University Institute in Florence specializing in the study of gender, race and European imperialism. Her doctoral thesis (in progress) addresses the phenomenon of intimate race relations in British East Africa. Alongside her research, Daphné Budasz is engaged in projects to popularize historical knowledge, particularly on colonial memory in Italy and Europe. She is also the co-founder of the EUI Decolonizing Initiative and BHM at the EUI.
