Biography

Isabelle Charpentier is a sociologist & political scientist, specialist in the sociology of literature, culture & gender. Doctor of political science, she is professor of sociology at the University of Picardy, and member of CURAPP-ESS and CESSP-CSE. She has published works on the work of A. Ernaux and his receptions, the sociology of Maghrebian writers dealing with the body and sexuality. Her current work also focuses on single-sex occupations (bus drivers, chefs), the sociology of television series and that of the working classes.
