Élisabeth Spettel has a doctorate in philosophy of art and defended a thesis on the Double game of subversion: between Dadaism, surrealism and contemporary art. Temporary teaching and research assistant at Bordeaux Montaigne University, she has published articles on humor and provocation and has set up a partnership with the Center Pompidou Mobile. From 2015 to 2017, she did a postdoctoral fellowship at the State University of New York on African American art. She currently teaches French art history and literature at Stony Brook and the Alliance Française in Manhattan.
