After studies in international cooperation and public health, Aurélie Desrumaux joined the NGO Equilibres & Populations. From 2008 to 2010, she was first in charge of Equipop's West Africa office based in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. On her return to France, she joined the head office to become a project manager. Since 2010, she has worked particularly on the implementation of projects to promote the abandonment of female genital mutilation in Africa and Europe. Through these projects, she was able to acquire solid experience on the theme of sexual mutilation.
