Marise Bachand has been a professor of American history at UQTR since 2011. A graduate of UQAM in history and feminist studies, she holds a doctorate from the University of Western Ontario. Recipient in 2016 of the A. Elizabeth Taylor award for best article in the history of women of the American South, she is completing the preparation of her first monograph on the urban life of women of the slave elite. She is also the author of a series of scientific articles on the spatial practices of Creoles and Canadians in the 19th century.
