Biography

Diane Garnault has a doctorate in psychoanalysis and psychopathology, specializing in medicine and psychoanalysis. Her research focuses on the treatment of the female reproductive body by contemporary techno-scientific medicine: uterus transplantation, medically assisted procreation, medicalization of pregnancy and childbirth, in connection with its representations of the motherhood and its idealization in the dominant societal discourse. Its clinical inclusion reinforces this sensitivity and questions relating to the issue of gynecological mistreatment and obstetric violence, and in a broader sense to violence against women and gender violence.
