Marie-laure Massei-chamayou

Biography

Certified in English, Marie-Laure Massei-Chamayou is a lecturer at the University of Paris 1-Panthéon Sorbonne and a member of the Center d'histoire du XIXe siècle. She is a specialist in the work of Jane Austen to which she has devoted several articles dealing with social changes, power relations, the representation of status, the transmission of inheritance or the symbolism of money. Her research also focuses on the evolution of the representation of money and the relationship of women to the economy among novelists of the Victorian era.
