Since 1980, Mercédez Roberge has worked and campaigned for rights and democracy. Interested in the representation of ideas and people, she chaired the Mouvement Nouvelle Démocratie (2003-2010). Since 2007, she has been coordinating the Table des regroupements provinciaux d'organismes communautaires et bénévoles, which reaches over 3,000 groups in Quebec. She notably contributed to the Bread and Roses March (1995) and to the World March of Women (international office 1998-2002).
