Dr Maria Lopez Medel is a lecturer at the University of Alicante (Spain), where she has been teaching undergraduate translation and master's modules since 2017. She researches on the subject of sexism, language and translation.
A certified freelance translator since 1998, she is currently an external translator for the Translation Center for the Bodies of the European Union specializing in financial and legal texts. She is registered as a gender expert with the European Commission.
