Biography

Akila KIZZI is a teacher-researcher, specialist in issues related to social gender relations in literature. She has published on the question of the intellectual genealogy of women in North Africa and in the diaspora. In particular a monograph on the life and work of Taos Amrouche and on the painter Baya Mahiedine. She is actively engaged in transnational feminist networks. She is the founder of the Feminist Readings Network / Réseau Lectures Féministes. She is committed to women's rights in Algeria and the repeal of the Algerian family code.
