Biography

Marie Walin is a historian, specializing in the history of masculinities and sexualities in the Hispanic world in the 19th century. Her thesis was entitled "Knowledge on sexual impotence in Spain (1780-1910). Contribution to a history of heterosexuality" (co-direction: Sylvie Chaperon and Jean-Philippe Luis). His current work focuses on a critical history of the "crisis of masculinity" at the end of the 19th century. She coordinates with prof. D. Martykánová (UAM, Madrid) a work in Spanish on the history of masculinities in Spain in the 19th century (2023).
