Cécile Aptel is Deputy Director of the UN Institute for Disarmament and Arms Control and Professor of International Law. She has held positions of responsibility at the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, in international criminal tribunals, international commissions of inquiry and the Red Cross Movement.
