Biography

Cécile Aptel is Deputy Director of the UN Institute for Disarmament and Arms Control and Professor of International Law. She has held positions of responsibility at the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, in international criminal tribunals, international commissions of inquiry and the Red Cross Movement. His expertise covers all areas related to war and peace and reconciliation efforts: international justice & transitional justice, humanitarian & humanitarian law, human rights/children's rights.
